About Me

Want to know if gems in the rock are of any value (mostly USA - some from India and Egypt). Also have a ring - grandpa had made in 1940... I think it may be Alexandrite - goes from emerald green to ruby red but mostly stays amethyst puprle or turquois shade of green. Color changes instantly with UV/lighting change... I have seen it go a red/yellowish color in very low light. It is a "large" (I have 2.5 ct. amethyst the same size) It appears the stone he cut himself and set in silver setting.
