A light-colored, coarse-grained igneous rock from granite clan containing orthoclase, quartz, microline, mica, gemstones, and many ferromagnesian minerals resulting from slow solidification. Pegmatite is occurring place of many uncommon gem minerals such as beryl, topaz, tourmaline, etc. Also called giant granite.
