Natural Alexandrite Faceted stone

Overview Aug 1 2007, 08:35 AM

Portuguese Cut Alexandrite Oval, 2.1 cts

An unusual combination of a strong color change, good cutting, and superior clarity. Alexandrite is rarely this nice and both the daylight blue-green and the incandescent red purple colors are very attractive. The saturation of the daylight blue-green exceeds the top GIA color grade for alexandrite and the stones from this deposit may very well end up resetting GIA's color standard for alexandrite.
