| Natural Alexandrite Oval, 2.6 cts Bluish green in daylight and purplish red under incandescent light, the color change is exceptional. Although there are some silky areas, the stone is quite clean and transparent. Slightly silky stones like this one often show a superior color change. The cutting, proportions and finish are good. Some minor windowing is observable but could easily be removed with a repolish. However, with a weight over 2.50cts., the stone may be worth more as it is and we’ve decided to leave it as it is for now. | Natural Alexandrite Round, 2.16 cts Medium very strongly bluish green in daylight (fluorescent light) and medium reddish purple under incandescent light, the color change is strong. The daylight blue green is especially attractive in stones from this deposit. For an alexandrite, the cut and proportions are quite good. Alexandrite is rarely this nice and both the daylight blue-green and the incandescent red purple colors are very attractive. The saturation of the daylight blue-green exceeds the top GIA color grade for alexandrite and the stones from this deposit may very well end up resetting GIA's color standard for alexandrite. The change is apparent without even changing the lights. Alexandrites this large are extremely rare and this is a special stone. Although the clarity is not that good, this is a stone with character and I would keep it if I could. An antique setting might be the best way to set this stone. | Natural Alexandrite Oval, 2.04 cts The daylight color is a grayish green earthy color and the stone is red-purple under incandescent light. Under fluorescent light it is dark blue green. The color change is excellent. If you like these colors, this might be the stone for you. Alexandrite is very tough and durable and this particular stone might be good for a mans ring. I like this stone and bought it because of the large size and the strong color change at an attractive price. The cutting and proportions are excellent and the stone is very clean and free of any normal inclusions or fingerprints.
